 NJSDC's Member Appreciation Night, "Teams that Play Together, Stay Together" was held May 22, 2009. Presenter, Stevie Ray, had us laughing all night. He led us in game play activities such as "Word Ball", "Colonial" game, "Pass the Applause", Big Buddy" and "List It".

These activities help to build teams.

As an affiliate of NSDC, NJSDC is assisting in moving towards the goal of "all teachers in all schools experiencing high-quality professional learning as part of their daily work". NJSDC is advocating Professional Learning Communities as the future direction for high-quality professional learning that includes collaboration and teaming at its core. Stevie Ray led us in activities which lay the foundation for how good teams operate.

Everyone came away with a toolbox full of strategies to build their teams.

where they feel their school is relative to professional development practices

Discussion of what data is:
Analyze real-life situations in which the NSDC definition of professional development is being implemented

Explore the concept that the use of data is the initial step in identifying the focus in the continuous cycle of improvement for PLC's
